Used Squier Precision ’62 Reissue 3-Tone-Sunburst 1983/84 (SQ serial)

SquierPrecisionBass, ’62 reissue in classic 3-tone-sunburst, made in Japan 1983/84. This is a little piece of history! The SQ serial Squier models were the first ever made in Japan, as part of a partnership between Fender and FujiGen Gakki. These are highly collectable instruments with a legendary reputation for quality; they’re regarded as equal or better in build quality than the USA made Fenders of the same time. This particular example is in great condition too; it’s really been well looked after. The sunburst finish has aged beautifully and really shows off the grain; the bass looks different from different angles as the grain catches the light. It feels awesome, the neck is perfect and the bass has that thick, round sound you listen for in a P bass. This is a great investment, the very early Japanese Squier work equally well as a collector’s item ora daily player.

Cosmetic condition notes: light finish wear, no major dings, just a few little things here and there. The original owner put a large clear plastic sticker on the back to prevent buckle rash. This has been removed, there’s no residue, but the finish has faded a little unevenly on the back (no buckle rash though!). The chrome has held up pretty well, although it has discoloured over time to that nice aged look. The finish has seeped into the wood over time, you can see the grain very clearly indeed. She’s a stunning instrument! All in all: excellent condition

Playing conditionnotes:Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some wear, it’s more slight discolouration than pitting at this stage; there’s heaps of life left in them. It feels awesome, the neck is perfect! Set up with fresh 45/105s.
