Warwick Corvette Standard Bubinga, made in Germany 2004. This is a superb sounding bass, it’s so fat it’s outrageous. The body is a gorgeous piece of bubinga, it looks incredible. There’s a bit of weight to it, but it comes with it’s reward: the tone. Its bright, fat, rich with an enormous and super tight low end. Theres a certain thing Warwick basses have through the low end thats a little hard to describe, a certain combination of lightning quick immediacy and thick, hefty lows… this is very, very good. The neck is a three piece ovangkol job with a wenge board, so its super rigid and perfectly straight, plus the oil finish feels very slick. Ive noted an increased interest in German W basses of late; this has already turned a bunch of heads. The sound of wood!
